Opt-Diss 410 In-Situ Fiber Optic UV System for Dissolution Testing
Manufacturer: Distek, Inc.
SKU: Opt-Diss 410
Description
The Opt-Diss 410 is an in-situ fiber optic UV measurement system designed for dissolution testing in pharmaceutical development and quality control. Its primary function is to perform direct UV absorbance measurements inside dissolution vessels, eliminating the need for manual or automated sample withdrawal and subsequent off-line analysis. This approach removes consumables like filters, tubing, and syringes from the sampling process. The system supports two probe types: fixed-architecture ARCH probes designed to minimize hydrodynamic disturbance, and an adjustable Variprobe that allows users to select optical pathlengths of 2, 5, 10, or 20 mm to accommodate varying analyte concentrations. Data can be collected at intervals as frequent as every five seconds, enabling near real-time dissolution profiling. The system's software can perform multicomponent analysis, allowing for the measurement of two distinct analytes, such as two active ingredients, within a single test without chromatography. The Opt-Diss 410 has physical dimensions of 13 x 22.5 x 22 inches (WxDxH) and weighs 55 pounds.
