Description
The OMEGA 5 from Bruker Optics is a Fourier-transform infrared (FT-IR) gas analysis system configured for automated, real-time monitoring. Housed in a 19-inch rack-mount enclosure, its core component is a 5-meter multi-reflection gas cell. This system is engineered for continuous, high-precision measurement of gas concentrations across diverse industrial and research applications. A key operational advantage is its low maintenance requirement, attributed to durable components like the interferometer, IR source, and integrated diode laser. The spectrometer utilizes a thermoelectrically (TE) cooled detector, providing high sensitivity without the need for liquid nitrogen. To handle challenging samples, the gas cell features nickel-plated surfaces and gold-coated mirrors, allowing for the analysis of corrosive gases. Integrated sensors within the cell automatically account for variations in gas pressure and temperature. The optics are sealed and purgeable, and an optional DryPathTM configuration enables the measurement of low-concentration water and carbon dioxide without an external purge gas supply. The instrument offers a spectral range from 4500 to 800 cm⁻¹ with a standard resolution better than 2 cm⁻¹, which can be optionally enhanced to better than 1 cm⁻¹.
