Description

NucSpot 470 is a fluorescent dye formulated for staining DNA in applications where cell membrane integrity is a concern. As a membrane-impermeant compound, it selectively labels nucleic acids in cells with compromised membranes, making it particularly useful for distinguishing between live and dead cells in viability assays or for staining fixed samples. The dye emits green fluorescence upon binding to DNA. Supplied as a 1000X concentrated solution in dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO), it is designed for significant dilution into aqueous buffers prior to use. The standard package contains 20 microliters of the concentrated stock. This stain is a tool for researchers in cell biology and microscopy who require a nuclear counterstain that does not penetrate intact, living cells.
