Description

The Nicolet iN5 is an FTIR microscope built for robustness and ease of use. Its optical design permits simultaneous visual observation and infrared data collection from the same sample area, ensuring correlation between the viewed feature and its chemical spectrum. The instrument has a large field of view to aid in locating contaminants and offers the spatial resolution needed for precise microanalysis. It supports multiple data collection modes, including transmission, reflection, and attenuated total reflectance (ATR). Operation is designed to be straightforward, with point-and-shoot functionality for rapid data acquisition. The system uses the OMNIC software suite, which includes extensive spectral libraries for compound identification. With dimensions of 66 cm wide, 35 cm deep, and 56 cm high, the iN5 has a compact footprint. It is presented as a maintenance-free instrument suitable for walk-up use.
