Nicolet™ Apex FTIR Spectrometer
Manufacturer: Thermo Fisher Scientific
SKU: IQLAADGAAGFARXMBNZ
Description
The Thermo Scientific Nicolet Apex is a Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectrometer designed for laboratory use. It is engineered to deliver high-performance spectral analysis, featuring a guaranteed signal-to-noise ratio of 50,000:1 and a resolution better than 0.25 cm⁻¹. The system's modular design allows configuration for specific spectral ranges and environmental conditions, with models available for standard mid-IR (KBr beamsplitter), extended mid- and near-IR (XT-KBr), and high-humidity applications (ZnSe). Key operational features include a modern Michelson interferometer for precise optical performance and a fast-recovery DTGS detector. The instrument incorporates a solid-state diode laser for alignment and a stable infrared source for consistent output. Its design supports productivity enhancements, such as a multi-sample compartment for mounting several accessories simultaneously and software features aimed at reducing analysis time. For data handling and compliance, the system utilizes OMNIC Paradigm software, which provides tools for data analysis, method development, and system suitability testing. The software supports validation protocols per ASTM, Ph. Eur., USP, JP, and CP. Remote data access and collaboration are facilitated through the OMNIC Anywhere cloud platform. The Apex FTIR is compatible with a range of accessories, including FTIR microscopes and TGA-IR systems, to extend its application scope. It is used in various fields such as polymer analysis, pharmaceuticals, quality control, forensics, gas analysis, and academic research.
