Description
The Nexera Mikros is a microflow LC-MS system designed for applications requiring high sensitivity. It operates across a flow rate range from 0.1 µL/min (microflow) up to 500 µL/min (semi-microflow), bridging the gap between nanoflow and conventional UHPLC. A key component is its specifically engineered micro-electrospray ionization (micro-ESI) source, which is reported to provide sensitivity improvements exceeding tenfold compared to standard UHPLC-MS configurations for analyses of small molecules, peptides, and proteins. The system incorporates features to minimize extra-column volume, such as a column oven mounted directly on the LC-MS interface. An adjustable stage with a viewing camera facilitates precise alignment of the ESI spray needle. For column connectivity, the proprietary UF-Link technology is employed to create robust, zero-dead-volume connections with microflow columns.
