Nanobrook Series Size And Zeta Potential Analyzers

Manufacturer: Brookhaven Instruments Corporation

SKU: Nanobrook

Description

The Nanobrook Series from Brookhaven Instruments Corporation comprises integrated analyzers for measuring particle size, molecular weight, and zeta potential. For particle sizing, the instrument employs Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS), covering a size range from below 0.3 nm up to 10 micrometers. Zeta potential analysis is performed using Electrophoretic Light Scattering (ELS) and Phase Analysis Light Scattering (PALS) techniques, the latter being particularly suited for samples with low electrophoretic mobility. The measurable size range for zeta potential extends from 1 nm to 100 micrometers. A key feature is the availability of three scattering angles for DLS measurements: 15°, 90°, and 173° (backscatter). The backscatter angle is optimal for small nanoparticles and proteins, while the 15° angle is used for zeta potential measurements and offers enhanced sensitivity for aggregation studies. The system uses an Avalanche Photo Diode (APD) detector for high sensitivity. Sample volume requirements are minimal, with 10 microliters typically needed for DLS and 180 microliters for zeta potential analysis. The instrument is designed for rapid, routine characterization of colloids, nanoparticles, and biomolecules in various suspension media.
