The Multisizer 4e from Beckman Coulter Life Sciences is a particle sizer and counter based on the Coulter principle of electrical zone sensing. This method allows for the detection and sizing of particles based on their volume, independent of their shape, composition, or optical properties. The instrument is designed to handle a wide range of sample types, including biological and non-biological materials in both aqueous and non-aqueous solvents. Its operational sizing range spans from 0.2 to 1600 micrometers in diameter, facilitated by a selection of aperture tubes ranging from 10 to 2000 micrometers. A notable feature is the availability of a 10-micrometer aperture, which enables the analysis of sub-micron particles down to approximately 200 nm.
