Multi-Specimen Fatigue Tester

Description

This multi-specimen fatigue testing system from TA Instruments is engineered to conduct accelerated fatigue studies on materials, subcomponents, and full devices. A key feature is its capacity to perform simultaneous axial fatigue tests on as many as sixteen individual specimens. The instrument employs a patented ElectroForce linear motor technology, which is noted for its durability and dynamic performance, enabling testing frequencies up to 100 Hz. Each specimen channel is equipped with an independent force measurement system, allowing for real-time detection of individual specimen failure. The setup includes precision adjustment and locking mechanisms for each specimen position. For environmental control, an auto-fill fluid bath maintains stable temperatures from ambient conditions up to 45 °C. Additional design elements include a nanometer-resolution displacement sensor, an integrated overtravel stop for specimen protection, and an open configuration permitting optical observation of all sixteen specimens during testing.
