MRBP Mouse and Rat Tail Cuff Method Blood Pressure Systems

IITC Life Science's MRBP systems provide a non-invasive method for measuring systolic and diastolic blood pressure in conscious mice and rats. The technique employs a tail-cuff sensor and an occlusion cuff, with the animal placed in a gentle restraint chamber. As the occlusion cuff inflates and deflates, the sensor detects blood flow resumption in the tail artery. These systems are cited as a standard methodological approach in preclinical research for longitudinal studies, such as evaluating the effects of genetic modifications, dietary interventions, or drug candidates on cardiovascular function. The equipment generally includes animal holders, a pressure control unit, a signal amplifier, and data analysis software to record and interpret the physiological readings.
