Description

The MoFlo Astrios series from Beckman Coulter Life Sciences comprises high-performance cell sorters designed for complex flow cytometry applications. These systems are engineered to handle demanding sorting protocols with high-speed capability and configurable optics. A key feature is the support for up to seven spatially separated lasers, including wavelengths of 355 nm, 405 nm, 488 nm, 532 nm, 560 nm, 592 nm, and 645 nm, enabling detection across 51 parameters. The platform offers models with dual or single forward scatter detection and incorporates enhanced Forward Scatter (eFSC) technology. Sorting configurations are versatile, supporting 2-way, 4-way, and 6-way sorting into various collection vessels such as tubes ranging from 1.5 mL to 50 mL and microplates including 6, 24, 96, 384, and 1536-well formats. The system's IntelliSort II technology facilitates beadless drop delay determination. For biosafety, options include integration within a Baker SterilGARD BSL2 cabinet with aerosol evacuation. The electronics support high-speed data acquisition, validated for rates exceeding 100,000 events per second and sort decisions up to 70,000 per second.
