Micromeritics GeoPyc Envelope Density Analyzer
Manufacturer: Malvern Panalytical
SKU: GeoPyc
Description
The Micromeritics GeoPyc is an envelope density analyzer that measures the bulk or envelope volume of solid objects, including irregularly shaped pieces and powders. Instead of using liquids, it employs a proprietary free-flowing DryFlo medium to surround the sample. The instrument calculates volume by comparing the displacement of this medium with and without the sample present, from which envelope density is derived. It accommodates a wide range of sample sizes through interchangeable sample cells with internal diameters from 12.7 mm to 50.8 mm, handling volumes from approximately 0.3 cm³ to 25 cm³. An optional Trans-Axial Pressure (T.A.P.) module allows for the analysis of compressed bulk density of powders. When used in conjunction with a pycnometer for skeletal density, the GeoPyc can also calculate parameters like pore volume and percent porosity. The instrument operates in an ambient temperature range of 15°C to 35°C.
