Micromeritics AccuPore
Manufacturer: Malvern Panalytical
SKU: AccuPore
Description
The Micromeritics AccuPore is a capillary flow porometry instrument, also referred to as a gas liquid porometer, used for analyzing throughpores in flat sheet materials like membranes and non-wovens. It operates by applying gas pressure to displace a wetting liquid from the pores of a sample. The pressure required to open each pore correlates to its minimum diameter, allowing for the measurement of pore size distribution and the largest pore size across a significant test area. This technique is valued for its speed, with sample preparation typically under 30 seconds, and its avoidance of hazardous materials like mercury. The system supports a maximum flow rate of 200 liters per minute and can handle pressures up to 500 psi (35 bar), using air or nitrogen as the test gas. Common applications include the characterization of battery and fuel cell separators, filtration media, and non-woven fabrics.
