Description

The MicroCal PEAQ-ITC series from Malvern Panalytical comprises isothermal titration calorimeters designed for the direct, label-free analysis of biomolecular interactions. These instruments measure the heat change during binding events, enabling the simultaneous determination of key thermodynamic parameters—including binding affinity (KD), enthalpy (ΔH), entropy (ΔS), and stoichiometry (n)—within a single experiment. This provides a complete thermodynamic profile, offering insights into the driving forces behind molecular associations beyond simple affinity measurements. Operating within a temperature range of 2°C to 80°C, the system features a coin-shaped sample cell constructed from chemically resistant Hastelloy, ensuring compatibility with biological samples and various solvents. The high signal-to-noise design allows for sensitive detection, capable of characterizing interactions with dissociation constants ranging from millimolar to picomolar levels, often requiring as little as 10 µg of protein. User-friendly guided workflows and automated features, such as cell washing, facilitate reproducible data generation with minimal assay development. The core PEAQ-ITC unit can be upgraded to a fully automated system (PEAQ-ITC Automated) for walk-away operation, integrating temperature-controlled 96-well plate handling to meet the throughput demands of research and drug discovery laboratories.
