Description
The Glas-Col Micro-Expression Shaker is an orbital incubator shaker designed for precise mixing and temperature control in small-volume applications. It operates within a temperature range of 15°C to 60°C with a uniformity of ±0.4°C. The unit features microprocessor-based controls with a speed range of 100 to 1200 RPM, adjustable in 10 RPM increments. A digital timer allows for runs from seconds up to 24 hours. A distinctive feature is its user-selectable pulse mode, which can be combined with the timer, offering 1 to 100 pulses per minute with a duty cycle from 1% to 99%. This pulsation is particularly useful for solid-phase chemistry reactions involving resins. The shaker accommodates deep-well plates, with models available to hold 8, 12, 16, or 24 plates simultaneously, secured by a hold-down top. It includes a 4-line backlit LCD display, membrane switch interface, USB communication port, and soft start/stop functionality. Optional software is available for data acquisition. Applications include micro-expression studies for recombinant proteins, solution-phase synthesis, and cell culture, where its design allows for high-density plate processing.
