Manufactured by Phenom-World BV, the Micro-electronics Insert is an accessory for a metallurgical sample holder used in microscopy. It is designed to secure delicate samples, such as those from semiconductor wafers, micro-electronics components, and solar cells, for imaging without causing surface damage. The insert accommodates samples in two standard sizes: 10 x 10 mm and 19 x 19 mm. Its clamping mechanism employs 16 angled fingers to hold the sample firmly without requiring direct surface contact or tools. This design distributes clamping force evenly and prevents the sample obscuration or marring that can occur with traditional clamp-based systems, preserving the sample's integrity for accurate microscopic analysis.
