Description

This Metal Fume Cupboard from TopAir Systems Inc. is a containment device designed to protect laboratory personnel from exposure to hazardous vapors, gases, and particulates generated during procedures. It functions by capturing and exhausting contaminants from the work area through a dedicated ducting system connected to an external exhaust fan. The cupboard's construction features a metal frame with an epoxy-coated paint finish. The interior is lined with 5mm high-pressure laminate (HPL), and the standard work surface is ceramic, with optional materials including stainless steel, polypropylene, or epoxy resin. A 5mm thick front safety glass sash, balanced by a counterweight system, provides access to the work zone. Ventilation is achieved through openings in both the top and rear panels to ensure effective capture. A basic 7-inch color touchscreen controls internal lighting and electrical outlets. Several upgraded control system options are available: an AFA system for air velocity display and alarm, a VAV system with a 10.1-inch screen for automatic velocity control via a variable frequency drive, and an Active system that incorporates an energy-saving automatic sash operation with proximity sensing. The unit includes 800 lux LED lighting isolated from the interior workspace. The cupboard is certified to EN-14175, ASHRAE 110-1995, and CE standards. Models are available in various widths (e.g., 900mm, 1200mm, 1500mm, 1800mm, 2000mm), with custom sizes offered upon request.
