Description
The Shimadzu MCT-W Series comprises micro-compression testing machines designed for evaluating the mechanical properties of very small specimens. These instruments are suitable for testing micro-components, fine particles, and thin fibers, which are common in advanced material research and development. The system offers maximum test forces of 4900 mN and 1960 mN, providing the sensitivity required for such minute samples. It supports multiple testing methodologies. In a standard compression test, force is applied until sample failure or a predetermined load is reached. The load-unload mode measures the recovery rate of a material by calculating the displacement difference after cycling between preset maximum and minimum load points. Additionally, cyclic testing can be performed for up to 250 cycles to assess fatigue characteristics. Operation is managed via a PC interface, which requires two PCI slots, and the unit includes connectivity for an optional printer.
