Massbox® Mass Spectrometer
Manufacturer: Exum Instruments
SKU: Massbox
Description
The Massbox is a compact time-of-flight mass spectrometer system from Exum Instruments that utilizes Laser Ablation Laser Ionization (LALI) technology. This integrated desktop instrument is configured for the direct analysis of solid materials with minimal sample preparation. It features a mass analyzer with a range extending to 20,000 Th and offers a resolution between 700 and 1100 Th/ΔTh. The system is capable of quantitative elemental analysis, detecting elements from lithium to uranium with parts-per-million sensitivity. Key operational modes include creating two-dimensional elemental maps with a spatial resolution down to 5 microns over areas up to 90 mm x 90 mm, as well as performing three-dimensional depth profiling to analyze composition through layers hundreds of microns thick. An optional configuration allows for air-free analysis of oxygen-sensitive or reactive samples.
