Description

The MALDI-8030 is a benchtop linear MALDI-TOF mass spectrometer capable of operating in both positive and negative ion modes. This dual-polarity capability allows for the analysis of a broad spectrum of analytes, including proteins, peptides, oligonucleotides, lipids, glycans, polymers, and small molecules. The system covers a mass range from m/z 1 to 500,000 and provides a resolution exceeding 5000 FWHM. It incorporates a 200 Hz solid-state laser with a 355 nm wavelength. Key design features aim to improve throughput and reduce maintenance: a load-lock chamber facilitates rapid sample introduction, while patented UV laser-based source cleaning allows for in-situ cleaning of ion optics without breaking vacuum. The WideBore ion optics technology is implemented to minimize contamination. The instrument operates quietly at less than 55 decibels. An integrated barcode reader, compatible with specific sample slides and automated analysis software, helps prevent sample misidentification. Control and data acquisition are managed by MALDI Solutions software, which offers tools for data security, user authentication, and audit trails to meet regulatory standards.
