Description

The MALDI-8020 is a compact, benchtop mass spectrometer utilizing matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization (MALDI) with a linear time-of-flight (TOF) analyzer. It is engineered to deliver performance comparable to larger systems while occupying minimal laboratory space. The instrument features a mass range from m/z 1 to 500,000 and achieves a resolution greater than 5000 FWHM for the ACTH 18-39 peptide. A solid-state laser enables rapid data acquisition. Operational efficiency is enhanced by a load-lock system for quick sample target introduction and an automated source cleaning function. An integrated barcode scanner aids in sample tracking. The system supports common analytical workflows such as peptide mass fingerprinting for protein identification, in-source decay analysis, and polymer distribution studies.
