Description
Applied Scientific Instrumentation (ASI) manufactures a series of precision linear stages, identified by model numbers LS-25, LS-50, LS-100, LS-200, and LS-400. These motorized positioning devices are engineered for high-accuracy applications, offering sub-micron repeatability. The stages achieve precise motion control through a system utilizing closed-loop DC servomotors coupled with high-resolution rotary encoders that provide positioning feedback with an encoder resolution of 5.5 nm. For applications requiring the highest level of precision, an optional linear encoder can be integrated to further enhance positioning accuracy. The mechanical design incorporates crossed-roller slides and precision lead screws, driven by zero-backlash miniature geared DC servomotors to ensure smooth and accurate travel. Available travel ranges extend from 50 mm to 300 mm (approximately 2 to 12 inches). Each stage has a load capacity of up to 4.5 kg (10 lbs) and can be used individually or configured in stacked assemblies for multi-axis movement, suitable for both horizontal and vertical orientations.
