Description

The Shimadzu LCMS-TQ RX Series comprises a family of triple quadrupole liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) instruments designed for robust, high-speed quantitative analysis. The series integrates hardware and software technologies under the Ultra Fast Mass Spectrometry (UFMS) umbrella, delivering a polarity switching time of 5 milliseconds, a data acquisition scan speed of 30,000 u/sec, and MRM measurement capability up to 555 channels per second. The mass analyzers (Q1 and Q3) are molybdenum hyperbolic mass filters with pre-rods; Q1 also includes post-rods. System resolution is less than 0.7 u FWHM and is adjustable to 0.5 u. Ionization options include ESI, APCI, a Dual Ionization source, and Micro-ESI. Several specific technologies are featured in the RX series. The CoreSpray™ gas delivery system is engineered to increase gas flow and improve nebulizer coaxiality, aiming to enhance heat distribution in the ionization source for reliable sample ionization. The IonFocus™ electrode is designed to remove matrix contaminants, which can reduce noise levels and maintenance needs. A Heated ESI Probe is included to promote ionization for a wide range of compounds. The Performance Concierge function proactively monitors system performance using a standard solution, provides troubleshooting guidance, and alerts operators to maintenance requirements. The series includes multiple models tailored for different performance and application needs: the LCMS-8060RX is positioned as the premier system with high sensitivity and rapid analysis; the LCMS-8050RX offers high-speed operation and reliability; and the LCMS-8045RX is presented as a cost-effective option for routine analysis. An Ecology Mode function is designed to automatically check system status and power down the instrument after sample queues are complete, which can reduce power consumption and laboratory operating costs.
