Manufacturer: Leeds Forensic Systems
SKU: LCF3
Description
The LCF3 Firearm and Tool Mark Comparison Microscope from Leeds Forensic Systems is an optical instrument designed for forensic examination. It is used for the analysis of ballistic evidence, tool marks, striations, impression marks, cartridge cases, bullets, and documents. The system incorporates a matched pair of zoom-based macro bodies, each providing a 16:1 zoom ratio. The optics are apochromatically corrected Olympus components, which are designed to deliver high-resolution, aberration-free images. The optical system is parcentric and parfocal, with 14 matched magnification positions across a zoom range from 6x to 102x; 11 of these positions are within the 6x to 56x range. An optical bridge presents an erect, non-reversed image with a 22mm field of view. The microscope allows for comparative viewing of two samples, with the ability to display 100% of the right or left image, or to divide and overlap the images in any user-defined ratio. Integrated aperture diaphragms are included for image control.
