Description
The Shimadzu LC-40D X3 is a high-pressure solvent delivery pump engineered for UHPLC workflows. It features a parallel-type double plunger design and is capable of generating system pressures up to 130 MPa, facilitating faster analyses and high-resolution separations. It is operable in constant flow or constant pressure modes and supports various gradient methods, including isocratic, binary high-pressure, ternary high-pressure, and quaternary low-pressure gradient formations. FlowPilot technology is incorporated to gently increase pump flow, wait for column thermal stabilization, and then achieve the target flow rate, thereby reducing the risk of column damage from pressure spikes. Users can input solvent compressibility values to optimize performance and minimize pulsation. The system provides diagnostic information, including total operating time, solvent delivery volume per seal, and logs for maintenance, errors, and general operation. Control interfaces include a front-panel LCD keypad, web browser access, and integration with standard HPLC and LC-MS/MS software platforms.
