LC-40D HPLC/UHPLC Pump

Manufacturer: Shimadzu

SKU: LC-40D

Description

The Shimadzu LC-40D is a solvent delivery pump designed for HPLC and UHPLC applications. It employs a parallel-type double plunger mechanism to minimize pulsation and maintain stable baselines during operation. This unit supports a flow rate range from 0.1 µL/min to 10 mL/min and can withstand pressures up to 44 MPa. Its physical dimensions are 260 mm in width, 500 mm in depth, and 140 mm in height. The pump offers multiple operational modes, including isocratic, binary, and low-pressure gradient elution (LPGE), and can function in either constant flow or constant pressure configurations. An optional internal solvent selection valve with two or four channels, or an LPGE formation unit, can be added for increased flexibility. A key feature is FlowPilot technology, which initiates a gradual flow ramp, pauses for column temperature equilibration, and then proceeds to the set flow rate to mitigate pressure shock and potential column damage. Users can adjust solvent compressibility settings to further reduce pulsation. Operational data such as total run time, solvent volume delivered per seal, and maintenance, error, and operation logs are accessible. Control is possible via the integrated LCD keypad, a web browser interface, or compatible HPLC and LC-MS/MS software. An optional rinse kit is available to help prevent salt precipitation when using buffered mobile phases.
