Glas-Col's Large Capacity Mixers are versatile laboratory shakers designed to handle a broad spectrum of mixing applications. The system employs an interchangeable cartridge mechanism, allowing users to quickly adapt the unit for different vessel types, from micro-centrifuge tubes to larger containers like Erlenmeyer flasks. Constructed with chemical-resistant foam and ABS plastic, the cartridges can be configured to mix multiple vessel types simultaneously. The mixer provides an orbital shaking motion at lower speeds and transitions to a vigorous vortexing action at higher speeds across an adjustable range of 100 to 2000 rpm. A pulsing function is included to periodically interrupt vortexing, promoting more thorough sample homogenization. Powered by a DC motor with filtered control for smooth operation, the unit has a maximum load capacity of 5 pounds and physical dimensions of 18.25 x 12 x 17.25 inches (WxDxH). It is capable of accommodating tubes up to 6 inches (150 mm) in length.
