Description

The NuAire LabGard NU-813 is a Class I Containment Ventilated Enclosure (CVE). This type of cabinet provides primary protection for laboratory personnel but does not offer product protection. Room air is drawn into the cabinet through the open front access area at a specified inflow rate, creating an air barrier that flows past the operator. This inward airflow helps prevent aerosols and particulate matter generated inside the work zone from escaping into the laboratory environment. The contaminated air is carried through the cabinet and passes through a HEPA filter located in the exhaust system before being discharged. The NU-813 is designed for handling materials that present a low risk, such as certain aerosols and particulates. Its operation relies on the constant inward airflow to contain hazards within the workspace, making it a fundamental tool for basic containment needs in various laboratory settings.
