Description
The J257 Wide Range Automatic Refractometer from Rudolph Research Analytical is engineered for applications requiring measurements beyond standard food or beverage ranges. It features an extended refractive index span from 1.26 to 1.72 RI and a Brix range of 0 to 100, making it suitable for polymers, petroleum, pharmaceuticals, and essential oils. A dual-temperature control system heats or cools the sample from both the prism below and the cover above, creating a stable micro-environment for fast, precise measurements with minimal evaporation. Operation is simplified via a touchscreen interface and a large backlit LCD. The instrument can automatically initiate a measurement when the sample cover is closed and the sample reaches a preset temperature, which is adjustable from 10°C to 100°C (with an optional ±10°C extension). The optical system uses a wavelength of 589.3 nm.
