Description

The IVA for Polyolefins from Polymer Char is an automated system for determining the intrinsic viscosity of polymer solutions. This instrument combines a dual-capillary relative viscometer with a high-temperature autosampler capable of processing up to 42 samples in sequence. It is engineered to handle challenging polymers by maintaining consistent, elevated temperatures throughout the dissolution and analysis stages, preventing the formation of cold spots. Operation is fully automated, including sample dissolution, measurement, and system cleaning, which minimizes manual solvent handling and enhances safety. An optional infrared detector allows for analysis without the need for precise sample weighing. The system is compatible with a variety of organic solvents, such as decalin, trichlorobenzene, chloroform, and tetrahydrofuran. It is designed for analyzing a broad spectrum of polymers, including those with high and ultra-high molecular weights, while maintaining high precision and low solvent consumption.
