Description

Shimadzu's IRXross is a Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectrophotometer positioned as a mid-level instrument with high-end performance characteristics. It operates on a single-beam optical principle across a spectral range of 7800 to 350 cm⁻¹. The system delivers a signal-to-noise ratio of 55,000:1 and provides resolution settings from 0.25 cm⁻¹ to 16 cm⁻¹. Measurement speed reaches up to 20 spectra per second, facilitating kinetic studies and rapid screening. The instrument incorporates Analytical Intelligence via the IR Pilot software, which includes 23 macro application programs to guide users through common analyses. Specialized software packages are available for tasks such as pharmacopeial identification testing and contaminant analysis, the latter utilizing a proprietary algorithm and a library of over 550 common contaminant spectra. The IRXross is designed for regulatory compliance and can be configured with a wide array of accessories, including infrared microscopes.
