Description

The IntelliXcap Automated Septum Cap Decapper/Recapper is a 96-format instrument from Azenta Life Sciences designed for handling tubes sealed with pierceable septum caps. This unit can automatically remove and replace septum caps from a full SBS rack of 96 sample tubes. A key feature is an integrated capping module that allows the application of new Azenta septum cap mats. The system does not require an external compressed air supply. It is compatible with 96-format tubes from Azenta and other manufacturers. The instrument has dimensions of 255 mm wide by 770 mm long by 330 mm high and weighs 18.5 kg (or 20.5 kg with the capping module installed). It operates on a power input of 100-240 VAC and is controlled via a touch panel interface. An optional single-column harpoon decapping/recapping accessory is available. The system is suited for integration into automated workflows or for use as a standalone device in settings such as biobanks or compound management laboratories where high-throughput sample access is required.
