Description

The IGAsorp is a compact, automated benchtop instrument designed for dynamic vapor sorption (DVS) analysis. It employs a dynamic flow technique to perform precise sorption measurements using water vapor or organic solvents. By monitoring changes in sample mass with an ultra-sensitive microbalance under controlled humidity and temperature, the system generates vapor uptake isotherms and kinetic data. This information is critical for evaluating material properties such as stability, shelf life, hydrophobicity, and amorphous content. Humidity control is achieved through the precise mixing of saturated and dry gas streams, with regulation and measurement occurring directly at the sample position. This design contributes to strong baseline stability. The instrument operates within a temperature range of 5 to 50 °C and can accommodate samples weighing up to 5 grams. It includes built-in verification tests for its microbalance, temperature, and humidity sensors. The associated software can provide advanced analytical features, including the calculation of diffusion coefficients and permeation rates, and offers an optional module for compliance with 21 CFR Part 11 regulations.
