ICPE-9800 Series Simultaneous ICP Emission Spectrometers

Description

The ICPE-9800 Series from Shimadzu are simultaneous ICP optical emission spectrometers designed for elemental analysis. A vertically oriented plasma torch design aims to reduce sample deposition and carryover. The systems allow for rapid switching between axial and radial plasma viewing modes to accommodate both trace-level and high-concentration analyses within a single run. Detection is performed by a CCD detector with a one-million-pixel sensor that captures a full spectral range simultaneously. Several system features are intended to reduce operational costs, notably argon gas consumption. These include an Eco standby mode, a mini-torch, and a vacuum spectrometer that does not require continuous purging. The accompanying software provides tools for method development, automatic wavelength selection, and system diagnostics.
