iBright Imaging Systems

Description

Thermo Fisher Scientific's iBright Imaging Systems are integrated platforms for capturing and analyzing images of western blots and gels. The systems feature a high-resolution 9.1-megapixel camera and are controlled via a 12.1-inch capacitive touchscreen interface with a display resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels. The viewing surface measures 22.5 cm by 18 cm, allowing for the simultaneous imaging of up to four mini-blots or gels. Primary applications include chemiluminescent and fluorescent western blot imaging, as well as DNA and protein gel documentation. Built-in software automates many capture and analysis steps, aiming to streamline workflows from image acquisition to quantitative analysis, including normalization procedures. The product family consists of three models: the iBright CL750, which provides core imaging functions for transitioning from film-based methods; the iBright CL1500, which offers expanded application support; and the iBright FL1500, the premier model with support for multi-channel fluorescence imaging. The systems are designed to facilitate the generation of publication-quality data and offer options for regulatory compliance support.
