IB-29510VET Vacuum Evaporator

Manufacturer: JEOL USA, Inc.

SKU: IB-29510VET

Description

The JEOL IB-29510VET is a high-vacuum evaporator used for preparing specimens for electron microscopy. Constructed with a glass chamber measuring 250 mm in height and 250 mm in diameter, the system employs a turbo molecular pump (240 L/s) and an oil rotary pump (100 L/min) to achieve an operating pressure of 1x10^-4 Pa or lower without requiring a liquid nitrogen trap. It operates on a 10 V AC, 50 A power supply. This instrument is designed for applying thin conductive coatings to non-conductive samples, a critical step for preventing charging during imaging and analysis with scanning electron microscopes (SEM). It is also capable of depositing carbon films suitable for high-resolution observation with secondary and backscattered electrons, as well as for chemical analysis using EDS or WDS. Additionally, the system can perform shadowing evaporation with various metals and handle thermal processing tasks, such as cleaning aperture foils used in electron microscopes.
