Description

The HS-111 from Amerex Instruments is a multifunctional laboratory instrument that combines the capabilities of a hybridization oven with those of an incubator shaker. It features a microprocessor-based temperature control system, operating from 5°C above ambient up to 80°C, paired with a quiet circulating fan to ensure a uniform thermal environment within the chamber. The interior is constructed of stainless steel and includes a large double-paned glass window for clear observation. A key component is its rotisserie assembly, which holds either eight or sixteen 40-mm tubes and can be fitted with accessory clips for various tube sizes including 50-mL, 15-mL, 1.5-mL, and 2.0-mL formats. This rotisserie can be adjusted to create a tri-directional rotation by offsetting the tube holders, promoting a rigorous washing action within the tubes to enhance hybridization efficiency and reduce reagent consumption. Furthermore, the rotisserie can be quickly removed to reveal an integrated shaking platform. This platform accommodates Erlenmeyer flasks up to 500 mL in capacity, or a single 6-liter flask, and can also be used for gently agitating trays during wash steps. Shaking is driven by a dynamically-balanced triple eccentric mechanism, providing smooth operation at speeds up to 300 RPM, suitable for bacterial or cell culture applications. The unit's exterior dimensions are 44 cm wide by 43 cm deep by 65 cm high, with an internal workspace measuring 35 cm by 25 cm by 42 cm.
