Hybridization Oven
Manufacturer: Amerex Instruments, Inc.
SKU: HS-101
Description
The HS-101 Hybridization Oven is a compact, microprocessor-controlled unit designed for molecular biology applications such as nucleic acid hybridization and membrane washing. It offers a temperature range from 5°C above ambient room temperature up to 80°C, maintained uniformly by a large, quiet circulating fan. The core component is a motorized rotisserie assembly that can be configured in several ways. It standardly holds eight or sixteen 40-mm diameter tubes, depending on their length. Using accessory tube clips, it can also accommodate 50 mL, 15 mL, 1.5 mL, and 2.0 mL tubes. A notable feature is the ability to offset the two tube holders on the rotisserie by up to 20 degrees, creating a tri-directional 'wobbling' rotation. This action moves liquid from one end of a tube or bottle to the other, providing a more rigorous washing action that can increase hybridization efficiency and reduce the volume of probe solution required. The external dimensions are 44 cm x 43 cm x 43 cm, with an interior workspace of 35 cm x 25 cm x 25 cm.
