Description

The Human beta-Amyloid (1-40) ELISA II is an improved version of the standard assay, also formatted for 96 tests. This kit from FUJIFILM Wako Chemicals incorporates design enhancements aimed at increasing assay performance and reliability. A key improvement is the use of an F(ab')2 fragment of the BA27 detection antibody, which specifically recognizes the C-terminal end of the Aβ40 peptide. This modification is intended to promote a more stable antigen-antibody interaction while reducing nonspecific binding. Consequently, the assay demonstrates improved stability during the washing steps of the ELISA procedure. Like its predecessor, this kit is used for the quantitative analysis of Aβ40, a peptide whose deposition is studied in the context of Alzheimer's disease pathology and advanced senile plaque formation.
