Description

The Hemo Control from EKF Diagnostics is a compact, point-of-care analyzer for the quantitative measurement of hemoglobin and hematocrit. It employs the established photometric azide methemoglobin method to deliver laboratory-quality results in approximately 25 seconds from a small 8 µL sample of venous, arterial, or capillary blood. The device offers a measuring range of 0 to 25.6 g/dL (0 to 15.9 mmol/L) with a reported precision of less than 2% coefficient of variation. Designed for use in settings such as blood banks, hospitals, and clinics, it features a backlit screen for clear instructions, a soft-load cuvette holder, and an integrated rechargeable battery, making it suitable for both stationary and mobile applications. The analyzer requires no calibration and uses a bubble-free cuvette design. With dimensions of 160 x 160 x 68 mm and a weight of 700 grams, it is a portable unit.
