Description

The GelCount™ 2 is a digital imaging system from Oxford Optronix specifically developed for the automated counting and analysis of biological aggregates. Its primary application is the quantification of cancer cell colonies, organoids, and spheroids, which are critical models in oncology and stem cell research. The system utilizes a matrix CCD camera to capture high-resolution images of samples, typically within culture dishes. Accompanying PC software provides tools for image acquisition, processing, and the automated identification and enumeration of these cellular structures, aiming to reduce subjectivity and increase throughput compared to manual counting methods.
