Description

The PCE-GA 5 is a gas detection instrument designed for indoor safety monitoring of combustible gases. It detects both natural gas (methane) and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG, propane/butane), measuring concentrations from 0 to 100% of the Lower Explosion Limit (LEL). An alarm is triggered at 6% LEL, with a maximum response time of 30 seconds and an alarm sound exceeding 70 dB. The device also incorporates a heat sensor that activates at an ambient temperature of 57°C (134.6°F). It features a color LCD display showing gas levels, temperature, date, time, and remaining sensor life. Connectivity is provided via Wi-Fi to the 'Smart Life' app for remote monitoring, push notifications, and voice alerts. The unit can be configured to automatically activate a connected shut-off valve. It requires a 180-second warm-up period, is powered via a 5V/1A micro-USB connection, and consumes under 200 mA. The electrochemical sensor has a service life of approximately five years. Installation guidelines specify mounting 30 cm below the ceiling for natural gas or 30 cm above the floor for LPG, at a distance of 1.5 to 4 meters from potential gas sources.
