Description
Zolix Instruments' GaiaField-Pro is a line of hyperspectral imaging cameras based on a spatial-scanning (slit) design, suitable for applications including Raman imaging. The operating principle involves projecting a narrow line (slit) of the sample scene onto an entrance slit within the spectrometer. This one-dimensional spatial information is then optically dispersed by a grating or prism across a two-dimensional detector array. One axis of the detector captures the spatial information from the slit, while the perpendicular axis records the full spectrum for each spatial point. To acquire the second spatial dimension and build a complete data cube, the slit is scanned across the sample area. The result is a three-dimensional hyperspectral image containing two spatial dimensions and one spectral dimension. The camera series covers an extensive spectral bandwidth from 400 to 1700 nanometers, with a spectral resolution capability as fine as 4 nanometers. Different models, such as the GaiaField-Pro-V10, V10E, N17E-N3, and N17E-HR, offer variations in their precise spectral coverage and detector specifications. This technology is employed in research and industrial settings where detailed mapping of chemical composition, material properties, or biological components is required, providing significantly more spectral data than standard color or multispectral imaging systems.
