G4X™ Spatial Sequencer
Manufacturer: Singular Genomics
Description
The G4X Spatial Sequencer, developed by Singular Genomics, is an instrument platform for high-resolution spatial biology analysis. It is engineered to perform in-situ sequencing, capturing transcriptomic and proteomic data directly from formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections. This approach preserves the native spatial architecture of the sample, allowing researchers to map gene and protein expression patterns within their original tissue context. The system operates at a subcellular scale, enabling the collection of molecular information across entire tissue sections down to the resolution of individual cells. By maintaining the spatial relationships between cells, the technology facilitates the direct correlation of complex molecular expression profiles with detailed tissue morphology. This capability is particularly valuable for research fields such as oncology, developmental biology, and neurobiology, where understanding the spatial organization of cell types and their molecular states is critical. The platform provides insights that are typically lost in conventional bulk sequencing or single-cell sequencing protocols, which necessitate tissue dissociation and thus remove all positional information.
