Description

Airfiltronix G Series Portable Fume Hoods are self-contained, ductless containment enclosures. Their primary function is to provide a workspace with negative pressure, preventing the escape of hazardous vapors or particulates into the laboratory environment. The hood structure consists of clear 1/4-inch acrylic panels supported by an aluminum frame. Multiple standard sizes are offered, with model numbers (G-24, G-30, G-36, G-46, G-50) corresponding to the exterior width in inches, ranging from 24 to 50 inches. The interior work area typically provides a depth of 17 inches and a height of 17 inches. Access is maintained through a clear vinyl curtain, though alternative door and sash configurations are available as options. Filtration is handled by a module, usually mounted atop the hood, which contains a high-efficiency brushless AC motor with a backward-curved impeller. This blower can achieve airflow rates up to 530 cubic feet per minute while operating at noise levels below 70 decibels. A selection of interchangeable filters is available to target specific chemical vapors and particulates; these can be combined in series to address multiple contaminants. For installations where overhead space is limited, the blower and filter module can be positioned remotely and connected via flexible PVC ducting. The systems can also be ordered without an integrated blower for connection to an existing building exhaust system, and an adapter kit enables a configuration that allows for both filtration and external venting. As portable tabletop units, they do not require permanent ductwork installation. Custom sizes and specialized features can be manufactured upon request. Optional accessories include replacement curtains, polycarbonate door panels, internal light kits for specific models, anti-static acrylic cleaner, and alarm systems for monitoring airflow integrity and filter saturation.
