Applied Scientific Instrumentation's FW-1000 is a motorized filter wheel system for microscopy. It is offered in two configurations: a six-position or an eight-position wheel, accommodating filters with diameters of 25 mm or 32 mm. Engineered for speed, the wheel switches between adjacent filter positions in under 40 milliseconds with minimal induced vibration. The filter wheel module itself has dimensions of 118 mm wide, 29 mm deep, and 203 mm high. A separate controller unit, measuring 235 by 267 by 140 mm (WxDxH), manages operation. Control interfaces include a simple TTL input or an RS-232 serial connection for programming filter sequences. A single controller can operate two filter wheels concurrently. The system includes excitation and emission adapters to ensure integration with most research-grade microscopes.
