Description

Esco Technologies, Inc. manufactures the Frontier Acela Ducted Fume Hood (EFA), a containment device suitable for procedures requiring protection from vapors and particulates, including certain cell culture applications. As a ducted unit, it must be connected to an external ventilation system to exhaust contaminants from the laboratory environment. The standard external dimensions for this model are 48 inches wide, 35.4 inches deep, and 55.1 inches high, with alternative widths of 60, 72, and 96 inches also available. The workspace is illuminated by high-efficiency fluorescent lighting that provides an intensity exceeding 85 foot-candles (approximately 920 lux) at the work surface. The design focuses on maintaining a controlled environment to protect both the user and the integrity of sensitive procedures conducted within the hood.
