Description

Edinburgh Instruments' FIR System is a complete, integrated source for generating far-infrared (FIR) laser radiation. The unit houses both the pump laser, typically a CO2 laser, and the optically pumped FIR laser cavity in a single, compact enclosure. This consolidated design enhances stability and simplifies setup. A key construction feature is the use of an internal frame made from invar, a low-expansion alloy, which provides exceptional thermal and mechanical rigidity. This minimizes alignment drift caused by temperature changes, ensuring consistent output. The system is offered with different pump laser (e.g., PL5, PL6) and FIR laser (e.g., 295-FIR, 395-FIR) configurations to meet specific wavelength and power requirements.
