Description

The FI-FO Portable Raman Analyzer from Zolix Instruments is a self-contained instrument for Raman spectroscopy applications outside a traditional lab. It combines the laser, spectrometer, and a fiber-optic probe into one portable unit. Multiple configurations are available, distinguished by their excitation laser wavelength. Options include 785 nm, 830 nm, and 1064 nm lasers, allowing users to select a wavelength that minimizes fluorescence for specific sample types. The system captures Raman shifts across a broad spectral range from 200 to 2750 cm⁻¹. Detection is handled by either a back-illuminated CCD or a cooled IGA PDA detector, with the spectral resolution dependent on the chosen model. A 10-inch touchscreen provides the main user interface for controlling measurements and viewing results. The analyzer includes a pre-loaded spectral database for quick material identification and can operate on Windows or Android platforms. With an internal battery providing more than four hours of operation, it is designed for on-site tasks such as verifying pharmaceutical ingredients, inspecting food products, authenticating artworks, conducting forensic examinations, and analyzing environmental samples.
