Thermo Fisher Scientific's Evolution One and Evolution One Plus are double-beam UV-Vis spectrophotometers designed for applications spanning routine quality checks to investigative research. The instruments operate across a spectral range of 190 to 1100 nanometers. A xenon flash lamp provides the light source, eliminating warm-up delays and allowing for immediate use. Scanning speed is adjustable from under 1 to 6000 nanometers per minute. The standard Evolution One model has a fixed 1 nm spectral bandwidth, while variable bandwidth is an available option. The Evolution One Plus model incorporates Application Focused Beam Geometry, a feature that adjusts the beam path to enhance performance when using micro-volume cells, solid sample holders, or fiber optic probes. Both systems are controlled by Insight Pro software, which offers guided workflows for method setup and operation. A variety of accessories, such as temperature-controlled cell holders, automated sample changers, and flow cells, support diverse measurement requirements in chemical, biological, and materials science laboratories.
